precipitation of 683-1511 mm and July precipitation less than 14 mm
(hex. avg.). Somewhat less likely where annual precipitation less than
359 mm. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with Douglas-fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone mixed
forest, stream density, July precipitation (hex. min.), the extent of
public land, and-to a lesser degree-ponderosa pine forest.
